As we move into late Spring our May meeting sees Vicki Cooke speaking to members of our Society on the subject of Hampton Court and especially the history of the Royal Kitchen Garden.
We will hopefully be enjoying the benefits of the warmer days without the risk of frosts and plants and seeds will be in full growth for the 2026 season ahead. Have you planted all your Franki seeds purchased at our February meeting ?
Last month our very own Richard Bailey stood in when our speaker was unavailable at the last moment, Richard told us how he grows those prize winning potatoes each year. You missed the secret if you weren’t there ! It was such a simple formular but you have to be dedicated.
Looking forward to the months ahead :
We hold our Annual Plant Sale on Saturday 16th May, don’t forget to plant a few extra seeds and plugs to be contributed towards the Plant Sale tables in May.
The Annual Flower Show will be held on Saturday 29th August to be held once again in Liston Hall.
Our garden visit this year is to be held on Saturday 25th April to the Wisley Royal Horticultural Society Garden in Surrey and the cost will be £22 per person to include entrance fee and coach fare.
We are now well into our exciting speaker programme for this year and we look forward to meeting you when you come along to our next event.
